The history of physical education and sport in unions of the Kosmák region of Orel

The bachelor's thesis deals with the history of physical education and sport in Kosmák County Orel. Kosmák County was established by agreeing to the division of West Moravian County at the General Congress of the Czechoslovak Eagle on July 31, 1947. The named county is based in Znojmo and the individual units are from the Znojmo region. However, the activities of this county were stopped by the communist regime. After many years under the communist regime, the county was successfully restored on January 1, 1996. In the individual phases after the restoration, unities were formed, but they did not survive on the Eagle scene and ceased their activities. Kosmák County now has 6 units: Mramotice, Pavlice, Přeskáče, Únanov, Vémyslice and Znojmo. The work further clarifies the life of the county patron Václav Kosmák. Secondly, it focuses on the course of Orel's activities from the beginning to the present and describes the personality of Orel's physical education, Jan Šrámek.

History of sports organization Orel in Bohemia between 1909 - 1948 In 1909, originated in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia sports organization Orel (the Eagle). Unified associations, which for Catholics organized gymnastic activities. Her ancestors were St. Joseph's unity, the Catholic companions and Christian Social gymnastic unions. Czech members of Eagle had a model of the Slovenian Catholic Orel, which was founded in Slovenia on beginning of 20th century by a priest and politician Jan Evangelista Krek. Organization of Orel established in the times of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, in the times of Czechoslovak republic (1918 - 1938) greatly intensified throughout the country, in 1935 reached over 160,000 members. Lifelong mayor of Orel was Msgr. Jan Šrámek, a Catholic priest and politician. Orel ran physical education for men, women, youth and pupils in the Christian spirit. Exercises organized in local groups and two major rallies: international gymnastic festival in 1922 in Brno and St. Wenceslaus days of Orel in 1929 in Prague. Orel maintained contacts with foreign gymnastic and sports Christian societies, became a member of FICEP (Catholic International Gymnastics Federation). The History of Physical Education and Sport in Borovany

This bachelor thesis deals with the history of physical education and sport in Borovany from the beginning of the founding of Local unity Sokol until 2018. In the first part is described a brief history of Borovany. Furthermore, the work is divided into three main historical periods. In the first period, the development of physical education and later sports is recorded from the year 1908 until the year 1945. The second period focuses mainly on the development of sports sectors between the years 1945 and 1989. The third period records the development of significant sports compartments in Borovany, especially in the years from 1989 to 2018. The last part is presented by the most successful athletes in the history of Borovany.

The thesis deals with investigation of activities of Catholic sports association Czechoslovak Eagle from the beginning of the century to the Second World War. It describes its history and explains its most important activity with reference to the activities in South Bohemia, in particular in Jindřichův Hradec and Třeboň. It explains the aims of its work as well as the historical value with reference to particular examples. Its how is the main meaning in connection of spirituality and materialism. The first part describes the history of Czechoslovak Eagle, its foundation, organization, and, its most interesting historical moments. The second part describes its activities in the region of South Bohemia. The third part sets the Eagle's work in Třeboň into the historical context. The fourth does the same with the Eagle's work in Jindřichův Hradec.

The thesis looks into leisure activities focusing on religious life at Třeboň parish between 1900-1938. In the first part it describes Třeboň at the beginning of 20th century, the development of the town administration, schooling, economy and social life. The second part of work is based on thorough study of various sources and deals with various social club activities in 1900-1938. The final part of work aims at catholic clubs and leisure activities linked to Catholic Church and described in written records such as Club index, Jihočeský obzor, parish chronicle and other sources.
